Our Mission

Families for Educational Freedom (FEF) promotes the education, not the indoctrination, of children through serving the practical legal needs of families in K-12 public and private schools. Freedom of speech and association, due process, legal equality, religious liberty, sanctity of conscience, and the ability of parents to guide and direct the upbringing of their children are rights essential to liberty and a free and flourishing society. FEF directly aids families in defending these rights through educational outreach, advocacy, and litigation.

FEF is not a think tank, but an organization devoted to serving the practical legal needs of parents, students, and teachers in K-12 schools. Among other things, FEF will help students, parents, and teachers fight the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and related ideologies that divide people into “oppressor” and “oppressed” groups, distort history, downplay individual responsibility and merit, and otherwise attempt to indoctrinate people into this Marxist worldview.

Families for Educational Freedom supports civil rights litigation, education, and advocacy in defense of students’ freedom of conscience in public education and the rights of parents to guide and direct the upbringing of their children. Familiesfored.org is a project of the International Organization for the Family, a 501(c)(3) charity, and donations are tax-deductible.
